Who we are

DiningDykes is a lesbian social group based in the South East. It started as a dining group but after rapid growth (there are now over 350 members!) It has become a group offering not just regular dining, but also a broad range of activities for gay women. It works along side its sister site GayGirlNet.com the lesbian social networking site. This means both that new members have the opportunity to meet other members online before attending events and that existing members can chat online and arrange activities with eachother. One of the many things that makes DiningDykes unique, is the fact that although the age of the members varies from 20s to 50s; the majority are in their 30s and 40s.   There is no 'type' women come from a wide range of backgrounds - the only thing that they all have in common is that they're gay and wishing to meet like-minded women in an off - scene environment. DiningDykes aims to benefit the local community. Not just by providing a service which enables gay women to meet other gay women thus reducing social isolation; but also by holding regular fundraisers for local charities (so far £1192 has been raised) and by providing an online directory of local organisations which are relevant to the lesbian community.

What we do

So far members have had their own candle-lit live music events, had picnics, BBQs, Sunday roasts, speed dating, a charity treasure hunt, an adventure day, Champagne Dining, visited The Painting Pottery Cafe, been bowling, clubbing  and been out for drinks.

And when do we do it

The evening meals are the last Saturday of the month and we go to Bent Double at the Komedia on the first Sunday of the month.

Other activities are planned throughout the month.

The group

DiningDykes was started so gay women could have a way of meeting other gay women off the scene. It's a great way of meeting new people, networking and there have also been several romances!!

Currently there are over 300 members including Amy Lamé, Zoe Lyons, Kim Lucas and Dulcie Danger.
