DiningDykes has raised £550 for The Brighton Oasis Project, £195 for the Survivors' Network and £70 for Pride.

DiningDykes aims to make regular donations to local charities in the future.

Charities we will be supporting

The Brighton Oasis Project -  Outreach services for female Sex Workers and women who may be homeless or otherwise vulnerable to exchanging sex for drugs or money. A service for children of substance misusers and a service for young women under 19 with problematic substance misuse. All services are supported by a creche. Range of services include structured group work, keywork, complementary therapies, acupuncture, and a range of sports and crafts activities. All are free to women and children affected by substance misuse.

Brighton Pride - Pride in Brighton & Hove promotes equality and diversity, and advances education to eliminate discrimination against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. It raises awareness of issues by promoting and staging a series of events including Winter Pride and the annual free summer festival and making grants and/or donations to other charitable and voluntary organisations.

Survivors - Based in Brighton, Survivors Network is a registered charity, set up in 1990 to meet the needs of women who were sexually abused in childhood and are now facing the long-term consequences. Survivors Network is a voluntary organisation run entirely by women, relying mainly on the dedication of volunteer workers. The Network aims to provide confidential services; relevant and accessible to women (16+) who were sexually abused in childhood, and offer a high quality service with a strong emphasis on empowerment and self help. Survivors Network offers support to women survivors and their supporters, male or female.

Threshold - Threshold is a Brighton-based charity offering local and national services to women experiencing mental ill health and emotional distress, such as depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, self harm.

Threshold services are targeted at women living on low incomes who are vulnerable and experiencing social isolation, for example, single mothers, women with experience of violence or abuse and carers.
